What Is The Best Thing That Could Happen?
Have you ever hesitated too long before making a decision because you were overthinking it? I doubt that it has never happened to you before and to be honest, sometimes I wish I shouldn’t have to make those big life-changing decisions or maybe even a decision on a smaller scale. Would it not be just so easy if our path was written already and there would be no wrong choice to make or no wrong turn to take? That could be a perfect life but unfortunately for us and fortunately in a way, we live in a world where some challenges can happen every day and that simply means that we are alive and we should live our life at its full potential, making mistakes and then coming back from it, falling and then standing back up, taking the wrong turn but finding the right way again…
I feel privileged in a way that there are so many things that I don’t know yet and that I can learn through some experiences, that means I am alive, this is what we are supposed to do, live either through new adventures, new feelings, new songs, new friendships, new career path, new hobbies and so much more. A life with a path made for us would be so boring and would close the endless opportunities for individual growth and adventures. Who wants that? Not me. Some days are hard, some days are easier and some days are quite boring but “c’est la vie” and I would not change it for anything.
The scariest moments are when you are facing two options, the first option is to do nothing or run away from the situation and the second option is to do something about it and jump right into the new opportunities that are opening up to you. Which one is the scariest do you think? I would say the first option where you don’t take the risk of something with a beautiful outcome to happen and choose fear instead of adventure. Without taking a risk, there is also a risk of never growing, staying with your limited beliefs or staying stuck in the same situation that may feel comfortable at the time but in reality, it is just the feeling of being stuck and fear that is creeping on you because you’re scared to see where the second option could take you. Who wants that? Not you and I. But “what’s the worst thing that could happen?” you would ask. To be honest, quite a few things could happen but I believe that there is nothing that you couldn’t handle and overcome. What if we would shift that mindset now, let’s say “What’s the best thing that could happen?” So many things, from feeling a sense of accomplishment to opening up to a potential life-changing path in the best way possible, to meeting great people along the journey, to discovering a new part of yourself that you would have never met, to doing an internal growth and feeling proud of yourself. If you weigh both options, I would bet that it is obvious that by taking a risk, you are taking the risk to a more fulfilling outcome than if you would have chosen to stay in the same position and do nothing. Nothing is the perfect word to describe that by doing nothing, you’ll get nothing out of it and not a lot of things are worse than that when it comes to actually living your life at its fullest and living without any regrets. Life is too short to not try and take that journey. What will you remember at the end of the day? Is it the risks that you took and all the beautiful memories or even lessons you got out from it or do you want to remember that when it was time to move, you decided to stand still out of fear?
Remember that what is meant for you will always come even if you decide to jump and you fall, there’s always a new day to decide to change the narrative until there are no more days and only then you will ruminate about all the possibilities you decided not to take and wish there would be more days to change the story of your life.
I have a friend who always says that you can’t mess up something that is meant for you and I have found that to be very true. Some life-changing decisions that I have made thinking that it would mess up something that might have been meant for me, somehow made their way back to me without expecting it or other decisions that I made led the way to a better outcome than I expected.
If with my words I can inspire only one of you to take the risk and open up to a new adventure, my task here is fulfilled. I am proud of you and so is your future self.
Cheers to the new opportunities coming your way and you taking it with prowess!
